This weekend, Jared and I noticed a strange new bird at our feeder - a leucistic (having reduced pigmentation) House Sparrow that we've named Whitey! This strange bird has big patches of white on its body, making it stand out from the other sparrows.
We also witnessed an epic battle at the suet feeder between the House Sparrows and a Downy Woodpecker. Here's an action shot:
If you can't tell, the Downy won (thankfully).
