Day 229: Sage Thrasher

The Sage Thrasher is a medium-sized bird that breeds in western North America in areas with dense sagebrush. We saw one while we were exploring the prairies of northeastern Colorado.

Sage Thrashers are light grey-brown on top and white underneath with dark streaks. The eat mainly insects, but will also eat berries.
