Day 276: Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Starting today, we're back with birds that we've seen in the good ol' state of Maryland. We've had quite a few cool sightings since our Colorado trip, so I'm excited to share some of those photos with you.

A couple of weekends ago, we saw a pretty male Rose-breasted Grosbeak in a nearby park. We heard him calling, and Jared finally spotted him way up in a tree. Males in breeding plumage have a black head and back, a white belly, and a bright red patch on the chest. They can be found throughout much of the northeastern United States.
